Apartment of BBC chief editor in Ukraine Marta Shokalo damaged in Kyiv strike
The apartment Marta Shokalo, chief editor at the Ukrainian BBC service, was damaged in the Russian missile and drone strike on Kyiv on July 31, the media worker reported in a Facebook post.
“It is very painful to see your home like this. Thankfully, everyone is alive and well: my mom, brother, and father. Because the house opposite has burned down completely. Now we need to get over the shock and figure out what to do with all this,” Marta Shokalo wrote.

The Russian missile and drone strike on Kyiv damaged the apartments of TV presenter Kateryna Soliar and former AGP Media chief editor Oksana Ruzhenkova.
Hromadske journalist Natalia Mazina and her husband were injured in the Russian strike on the Sviatoshynskyi district in Kyiv.
The Islamic Culture Centre, which includes a mosque and other facilities of the Muslim community, was also severely affected. The building of the Oleksandr Dovzhenko Film Studio was damaged as well.
