IMI source: Russian forces in Luhansk oblast are dismantling Ukrainian satellite dishes under the pretense of roof repairs

Russian forces are removing satellite dishes installed back when the territory was controlled by Ukraine from multi-storey buildings in Luhansk oblast, as the Institute of Mass Information learned from their own source in the occupied territory.

According to the source, roofs are being replaced even in small settlements and in buildings that had no urgent need for this.

“The ground around such buildings is literally littered with satellite dishes. Now I understand why this is being done,” the source said.

At the same time, the source noted, the dismantled dishes are not being reinstalled. Instead, people are offered to install satellite dishes from Russky Mir, but that package does not include Ukrainian TV channels.

As reported earlier, occupation administration representatives in Kakhovka (Kherson oblast) are forcibly removing Ukrainian satellite dishes from local households and replacing them with equipment that only offers access to Russian TV channels.
