CCD: Channels impersonating Zelenskyi, Yermak, Maliuk, first lady appear on Telegram

Unknown people persons have created Telegram channels impersonating the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi, the First Lady Olena Zelenska, the Head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak, and the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Maliuk, the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) reports on Telegram.

The CCD emphasized that the President, the First Lady, and the Head of the Security Service have official accounts that are verified (have a blue check mark) and that the work of the SBU Head are covered by the official verified account of the Security Service of Ukraine.

“All other channels are fake,” the Center explained.

The CCD added that some fake channels are created by renaming old crypto exchange accounts.

Earlier this month, unknown individuals created a Facebook account impersonating Oleksandra Matviychuk, human rights activist and head of the Center for Civil Liberties. The account account was deleted following reports by users.
