5 online editions in top position as media which respect professional standards –IMI research

Such are the conclusions of the survey of respect of journalistic standards at 16 popular online editions held by the NGO “Institute of Mass Information” on January 2019.
The second position is taken by four online editions at once, they are signatories of the Memorandum as well; “Liga” (liga.net), “Novoe Vremya” 9nv.ua), Dzerkalo Tyzhdnya” (zn.ua), Ukrinform news agency (ukrinform.ua). 96% of materials came out at these resources without any breach to the standards. The third position (94% of materials without any breach to standards) is taken by “Gordon” (gordon.ua).
According to the monitoring of IMI, the lowest indices of respect of the journalistic standards are observed at the online editions “Obozrevatel” (obozrevatel.com): 62% of materials without breaches to journalistic standards, and “Strana” (strana.ua): only 48% of materials resepctjing the journalistic standards.
*Survey covered 16 national online editions: :obozrevatel.com, segodnya.ua, 24tv.ua, tsn.ua, strana.ua, pravda.com.ua, rbc.ua, unian.com, gordonua.com, nv.ua,liga.net ukrinform.ua, zn.ua, censor.net.ua, tyzhden.ua, interfax.com.ua. The survey covered the period from 11 to 17 February 2019. The total sampling of analyzed materials was 800 materials.
The research is conducted with support of the program USAID “Media program in Ukraine”, that is implemented by the international organization Internews Network.
